Hey Fam!

this shift key is sticking so forgive me.

Hey!!! weeks go by so fast but when i think about all the stuff that happened it feels like 3 months worth.

spanish is, you know, it's going. honestly i'm pretty ready to just go to cali. especially because it still snows and stuff here. typical haha. but i think i'm at the point with the language that the only way i'm going to improve is by talking to native speakers. we taught a lesson to a lady in mexico city the other day via skype and it was really cool. latinos are just so special. it got me really pumped to get away from all these white kids, you know? haha j/k. jajajajajaja hey/kah. ANYWAY my point is i'm grateful to be here only 6 weeks and to be going stateside because noone going to south america seems to get their visas in time. but the mtc is great- kind of like efy meets hunger games hahaha.
apparently there are more sisters here than elders now, just barely. pretty sweet. that's what one of the worker guys told us last week.

LAW SCHOOL! hooray! i had been trying to make my peace for a while with the fact that i might not be in b/c i hadn't heard anything, and so that night i was like, okay little dream fish. i release you back into the wild. swim away. and then at 10 pm i opened the cinnamon rolls from grandma with the little congrats note and my roommates all freaked because i gasped like someone had just died and then i read the dear elder that i'd had in my bag for 9 HOURS and not read, and then we all screamed and i gave jumping hugs to everybody including some girl i didn't know standing in our doorway.

I DON'T ALWAYS TALK TO THE CUTE MTC TEACHERS, but when i do, it's because they want to know if i have a sister at byu. and i'm like yeah lindsay!! how do you know her?!?! and it's always some sketchy answer like 'oh i just pass by her a lot' or 'oh she gave me some chapstick once in the tanner building' and i am like, yes that sounds about right. typical.

every night before we go to bed we say our 'tender mercy' for that day. things like a good talk with a friend, being able to run outside on that field, or the better-than-breaking-the-law-of-chastity cake they have sometimes at dinner. Also, whenever someone in our district has an especially bad day, we spotlight them where we make them sit in the middle and go around and say our favorite things about them. as a spotlight instigator, it is my goal to make it out of the mtc without being spotlighted, but spotlighting everyone else.

we love the missionaries in our zone, and i know all of them by their nicknames I call them in my head but not by their actual names. it happens. making up first names for people is fun.

How is everyone doing?!? thank you so much for the letters; i just love them. i like knowing what people are thinking and feeling even more than what they are doing- so you are never boring. Mom, I've been thinking a lot about your seminary class. I wish i was there to talk to them about stuff. You are the best mom in the whole world. I recognize that telling you not to worry is like telling you not to be a mother, but just know the Lord is taking care of me.

today we went to the temple and I had a question that no one knew the answer to so the workers told me to go see the temple president. he was in a meeting but we talked to a recorder who didn't know the answer either; like there wasn't any more info on that point, but we talked about some other interesting things that I could tell you when i'm back. it was a cool experience and affirmed my faith that God reveals truth directly to us rather than being confined to a ecclesiastical heirarchy. there are a million things I am asking questions about and trying to learn. the gospel is the coolest ever.

Weirdly, you know what I am learning to do here? Be nice and serve others. If I could learn to be very good at those two things and STAY THAT WAY after this is all over, I'll be really satisfied.
<333 love love hugs hugs
